2a Girls State

With the state meet around the corner I was interested how likely my Alma mater (North Kitsap) will win the 2a Girls Track and Field State Championships and I came up with my pre-state team scores:

1. Sehome 74 Track: 62 Field: 12
2. North Kitsap 66 Track: 36 Field: 30
3. Squalicum 62 Track: 18 Field: 44
4. Cheney 52 Track: 47 Field: 5
5. Bellingham 51 Track: 43 Field: 8
6. Blaine 48 Track: 42 Field: 6

I will keep on update the current scores and also the likely final scores after each day of the state meet.

On thursday (Day 1) all the track race can have big impacts. In the 4x200 Sehome is the favorite with Bellingham, Cheney and North Kitsap all having teams who seem to be locks for the final plus Blaine fields a team that has an outside chance at the final and could improve a lot if Cherish Morrison runs on it. In the 100 Hurdles North Kitsap's Reagan Coyler is the 2a leader and favorite while Squalicum's Allie Kohr looks to score for her team. In the 3200 Squalicum's Brittany Gappa, Cheney's Sanne Holland and Sehome's Emily Pittis are among the favorites and in the 4x400 all 6 teams field a strong 4x400 with Blaine the favorite. In girls javelin (the only 2a girls field event of the day) only Sehome's Bodie Medler is competing from the teams with a shot at the title.
